A Little Dream Bed & Breakfast
Romantic Escape
A romantic hideaway in Camden Maine’s Historic District, A Little Dream is set on 2 sloping acres of rolling lawns and perennial borders, overlooking two small castles, with pretty tree-framed views of Penobscot Bay, Camden Harbor and the islands beyond.
A Little Dream is a Yankee Magazine Editor’s Pick and 2 time winner of The Discerning Traveler’s Romantic Hideaway Award for Maine. “Gorgeous rooms, lot’s of privacy, delicious breakfasts, and innkeepers you’d like to have as friends“, said The Boston Globe.
Award-winning, beautifully appointed, magazine-featured rooms are divided between a lovely white “cottage” style Victorian with wicker and flower-filled wrap-around porch and the separate beautiful Carriage House on a meticulously kept, estate-like property. Both are on The National Register of Historic Places and were built in 1888, once part of the Norumbega Estate, the well-known Victorian castle that neighbors us.
Seven thoughtfully appointed rooms, all with private baths (some with luxurious over-size tubs) offer lovely amenities, lush bedding, beautiful linens, and feature either a private deck, view or fireplace.
All have special touches, duvets, spa-style robes, imported chocolates, and hosts who will do their very best to please! An exquisite multi-course full breakfast is included.
Former Bostonians, your innkeepers Bill Fontana, a sculptor, and JoAnne Ball, a decorative’s designer, fell in love with the Camden on a drive thru. “We have to live here!” they both thought. “Serendipity brought us here. We drove by this Victorian cottage with its pretty Carriage House, bought it that day, and then thought “Now what? How about a B&B … a little dream!”
After years of putting our own distinctive signature on every inch of this charming property, we now happily share this special spot with guests from around the world! Thanks to a childhood in Switzerland, Joanne speaks several languages that make foreign guests feel at home too! Come join us, won’t you?
Located about 1/2 mile from the village of Camden, Maine, within walking distance of the town, shops and restaurants, A Little Dream is also 3/4 of a mile south of the Camden Hills State Park, with its astonishing views from the top of Mount Battie. It is also close to Windjammer cruises, sailing, island ferries, and museums, including The Farnsworth Art Museum and Wyeth Center.
